Board Etiquette

  1. No bickering and no cursing! If you want to snipe or call names or say the "f" word 50 times or tell everyone how stupid Atkins is, take it to the "bicker board". That's what it's there for. This includes bickering couched in lovey-dovey language. The meaning will be taken into consideration as well as the actual words. The line between good-natured teasing and bickering will be determined on a case by case basis by the Mods.

  2. This board is pro-Atkins. Any Atkins bashing will be deleted and you will be referred to the bicker board (see above).

  3. Newbies are strongly advised to read the "Newbie FAQs". Newbies are forewarned that if you post a question already covered by the FAQ's, vets may land on you like a ton of bricks.

  4. There is a chat room available 24/7. The chat room is useful for non-Atkins related conversation and for keeping the board from filling up with non-Atkins stuff.

  5. There are people who get annoyed sifting though non-Atkins talk on the board and people who don't mind at all. Just keep both sides in mind and everyone try to be thoughtful to your neighbors/buddies. We trust your judgement on this. 'Nuff said.

  6. No spam! If you're trying to sell something, go away! If you're an Aktid selling Mary Kay or Tupperware or something either keep it to email or take it into the chat room.

  7. You are not anonymous! Your ISP can be traced even if you don't use your real name. So think before you speak. If you mess around too much, you will be banned.
Example: You're IP address is 38.107.191.98

  8. There are a lot of different personalities on this board. We're all here to support each other so please use your best judgement and be as kind as you can when posting.

  9. If you post an image with your post, it's a common courtesy to download the image from the site and upload it to a site like PhotoBucket. When you link directly to images on someone elses site, you use their bandwidth without permission. They have to pay to host that site, and generally pay for the ammount of data that is sent (bandwidth). Linking to those images can use a lot of bandwidth and some site will complain.
